In Boké, the UMS Company (United Mining Supply), through the WAZNI Foundation, is continuing the work to implement its vast renovation and equipment plan for elementary schools in the urban municipality of Boké.
After the primary schools of Koffia, General Lansana Conté, Baralandé, Dibia Laïc, and Tamaranssy, the company officials proceeded this Friday, February 11, 2022, to the inauguration of the elementary school of Madina Kébeya.
The handover ceremony for this school infrastructure took place in the presence of educational officials from the prefecture as well as the beneficiary populations.
This ambitious project to renovate and equip elementary schools in the urban municipality of Boké was launched in December 2020 by the UMS Company (United Mining Supply), through the Wazni Foundation.
The goal is to provide a suitable learning environment for students. This time, it is around the primary school of Madina Kébenya built in 1999 to be renovated and equipped by the Foundation. A sigh of relief for the beneficiaries.
Composed of 6 classrooms and a general management, the primary school has been completely renovated from the roof through the ceilings, painting, and latrines. That's not all, the school also has table-benches.
The authorities in charge of education in the prefecture welcome this initiative by the WAZNI Foundation and invite donors to expand their project to renovate and equip Boké schools.
For his part, the head of community relations of UMS promised to do everything possible to strengthen the capacities of teachers in the urban commune of Boké.
This ceremony was also an opportunity for donors to hand over sports equipment to the various informal clubs in Boké.
"It's a feeling of satisfaction. We also ask the Foundation to continue in this direction”, explains Saa Maurice Kamano, representative of the prefectural director of education of Boké.
“Today, we are on the 6th school in the 11 establishments planned. But if there are omissions, that does not prevent us from adding more. In addition to renovations, we also take care of the supplies of didactic materials and for teachers and learners. We also considered, in collaboration with the prefectural directorate of education, the capacity building of teachers,” said Moussa Doumbouya, the first community relations officer at UMS.
