HIV Testing in Boké

The Chamber of Mines and UMS organized on Oct. 26th a day of awareness and free HIV Testing. The purpose of this event was to contribute to the prevention of HIV transmission and the reduction of stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV, both in the workplace and in the community.

HIV-positive people will receive follow-up and free treatment at the nearest referral center (Boké Regional Hospital).

The team arrived in Boke on Oct. 24th for the preparations. The campaign was done at the interchange level _the PSI team set up with all the equipment (tents) _ and was open to all UMS employees, subcontractors, customers and partners but also targeted all surrounding communities of the project. The participation was massive and the initiative welcomed.
